The Prestige Lecture – The Road Ahead – 2017 was held at the University of Strathclyde on the evening of Monday 15th May 2017.
Everyone needs science, engineering and technology and science, engineering and technology needs everyone. However, there continues to be a disconnect between the creativity and opportunity inherent in science, engineering and technology and the lack of demand for our input in a whole range of areas from policymaking and civic debate to business investment.
In this lecture Professor Dame Anne Glover talked compellingly about the opportunities that exist for translating knowledge and expertise into real benefit for citizens using examples from her role as Chief Scientific Adviser to the President of the European Commission and Chief Scientific Adviser for Scotland.
