The 2018 Road Ahead Lecture, the tenth annual lecture in the series, was delivered by Professor Keith Ridgway, CBE, Executive Chair of the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) on Monday 25th June, on the subject of “Manufacturing a Future for Scotland”.
The Road Ahead Lecture is Engineering Scotland’s annual prestige event, kindly hosted once again by the University of Strathclyde.
Keith splits his time between the AFRC in Inchinnan and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing in Sheffield where he holds the same position. Keith worked in industry before moving to academia in 1980 at the University of Sheffield. He launched the AMRC with Boeing in 2001 and in 2009 helped launch the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. In 2005 he was awarded an OBE, followed by a CBE in 2011.
