An Engineer’s Introduction to Unattended Train Operation
5 April 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Within the UK railways, there is a consistent and unrelenting push to automate specific elements of the railway system and reduce the load on human operators. Over the years and with the help of significant advancements in technology, we have progressively automated many aspects of the railway – Signalling control, Telecommunications networks, Traction Power control among others. The next significant step in automation is to remove drivers.
This event has been organised by the South East Scotland Afternoon Meetings and Events (SESAME) team.
The IET contact for the event is Sheena Smith.
