CIBSE Scotland: Scottish Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standard (NZPSB)

15 February 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Scottish Government’s Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standard for exemplary new build projects focuses on Place, Carbon and Environment. It establishes a robust and systemised approach for public bodies to articulate ambitious, but achievable target for emissions, comfort and environmental outcomes of their new buildings and major refurbishment projects to ensure they achieve their relevant Net Zero Deadline. The Standard seeks to minimise emissions by considering the potential for reuse of an existing asset as opposed to new build; promoting material and product specifications and achieving best practice in Operational Energy and Construction Embodied Carbon.

The talk will provide an introduction to the Standard by Jamie Goth and a case study presentation by Claire Shiels that will cover the application of the Standard’s principles in practice to Fife College’s major new build project on the Dunfermline Learning Campus.
