Civil Engineering: A creative and rewarding career

8 December 2016 @ 5:45 pm - 7:45 pm

Free

The G&S Prestige lecture will cover Ian’s experience of working in Hong Kong, South Africa and Malaysia.

Ian started his career with John Laing Construction Ltd and freeman Fox Partners working on major UK roads projects during the late 60’s/early 70’s. Moving out to Hong Kong in 1976 Ian began building 30 years of experience working with companies such as the Mass Transit Railway Corporation, Lilley Construction Ltd and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, which led to the ICE awarding Ian with the International Medal in recognition of his significant role in the development of the highway and rail infrastructure in Hong Kong.

Since then Ian has worked in countries such as South Africa and Malaysia and has been involved in major transportation projects. Ian now spends his time as a Project Manager advisor and is currently working with India’s largest Contractor.
