CPD Seminar – Cladding

This CPD seminar will cover the structural engineering challenges associated with building façades, looking particularly at: cladding types and materials, standards and guidance, primary structure and cladding interaction (support requirements / fixing types etc), fire performance, robustness and blast performance requirements.

About the Speakers

Gavin Kerr is a chartered structural engineer who has worked in the field of façade engineering with Arup for over fifteen years. Notable projects that Gavin has worked on are, Scottish Parliament Building, Reid Building at Glasgow School of Art and Dundee V&A. Gavin also sits on the technical committee of the Centre for Curtain Walling and Cladding Technology (CWCT) which provides technical guidance to the construction industry on matters relating to façade engineering.

Angus Cormie has many years’ experience in the design and construction of building structures with consulting engineers, main contractors, manufacturers and specialist sub-contractors.  He is Chief Engineer at J&D Pierce one of Scotland’s largest steel fabricators.

Richard Lockwood – Rawlplug Ltd
