De-risking the Type 26 Electrical Power & Propulsion System

23 November 2016 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

The electrical power system on board any ship is functionally critical to almost every system on a warship. Consequently, there has been a major push to ensure that all integration risks around the Type 26 electrical power system have been identified, addressed and mitigated.

The presentation will cover four key themes:
1 Scenario based mathematical modelling of the power system;
2 Physical testing of a contiguous system at the Electrical Integration Test Facility (EITF);
3 How these activities fit into the wider de-risking strategy; and then
4 Moves towards using a model-based systems engineering approach.
