7 October 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

This presentation will introduce the main ingredients for a successful implementation of game mechanics (gamification) in e-health interventions intended for health-related behaviour and lifestyle modifications and for use in e-psychiatry, drawing on the best current research evidence in this domain, with some illustrative examples of games and toy gadgets.

  • How do you conceptualise gamification for healthy behaviour change?
  • What are apps for health?
  • Want to find out about gamified interventions?
  • How can a Facebook health game help people with diabetes improve their health through lifestyle changes?
  • Can my Wii-fit really do me good?
  • Will we see iPads on prescription?

Speaker: Professor Maged N. Kamel Boulos, Chair of Digital Health at the University of the Highlands and Islands.
