Dundee Flood Protection Scheme

Dundee City Council is currently promoting two flood protection schemes under the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009. The presentation will provide an overview of these projects and discuss some of the design considerations and processes followed.

Gavin Smith – a Team Leader of the Infrastructure section of the Design and Property Department at Dundee City Council – will discuss the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009 with particular emphasis on how it impacts on local authority responsibilities for managing flood waters.

He will use the examples of the two flood protection schemes within Dundee to demonstrate some of the design considerations and processes involved in delivering sustainable flood management projects.
