Electric arc flash hazard management in the energy industry
5 June @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The Electricity at Work Regulations call out a number of hazards that could cause death or personal injury when working around electricity. Some, like electric shock, are well understood and managed, but can the same be said about electrical arc flash? How well is this hazard understood, recognised and managed in electrical equipment operational throughout industry? This event will cover the basics of what an electrical arcing hazard is, where it might be encountered, how it can be risk assessed and how control measures can be used to manage the risk. We’ll present this and more within the context of electrical safety in the energy industry and share a relatable case study of arc flash risk management in practice.
