16 January 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

John Porteous, Partner, Wallace Stone LLP

John has decades of experience in the design and construction of marine civil engineering structures in ports, harbours and marinas, and for local coastal communities, around Scotland and in the Western Isles.

There has been a rapid expansion in marine leisure and tourism on the west coast in recent years, particularly in the Western Isles, and in the infrastructure that supports these activities. Using examples of projects, he will discuss some of the engineering principles and some of the challenging issues involved in these developments.
