Engineering Scotland – The Road Ahead Lecture

Engineering Scotland warmly invites you to The 2018 Road Ahead Lecture. This is the tenth annual lecture in the series and this year will be delivered by Professor Keith Ridgway, CBE, Executive Chair of the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) on Monday 25th June, on the subject of “Manufacturing a Future for Scotland”.
The Road Ahead Lecture is Engineering Scotland’s annual prestige event, kindly hosted once again by the University of Strathclyde. Registration and refreshments from 5.30pm for a prompt 6.15pm start. We will close at 8pm.

Professor Ridgway splits his time between the AFRC in Inchinnan and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing in Sheffield where he holds the same position. Keith worked in industry before moving to academia in 1980 at the University of Sheffield. He launched the AMRC with Boeing in 2001 and in 2009 helped launch the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. In 2005 he was awarded an OBE, followed by a CBE in 2011. He became a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2006. More information on the AFRC and its impressive facilities and portfolio is available here.
