Including BIM in a virtual environment – achieving maximum efficiency

16 March 2017 @ 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm

Free

This is the second in a series of three lectures on Building Information Modelling (BIM).

A brief introduction overview of DE/BIM, illustrating with case studies how Laing O’Rourke implements it – simulating in a virtual environment the complete structure in advance of construction in order to achieve huge efficiencies in design and construction, cost savings, and quality assurance. A demonstration of how BIM is utilised in reality onsite, by integrating the data information; operating with maximum efficiency; reducing operational and management costs on project; leading to greater predictability, improved health & safety, reduced waste and, ultimately, greater corporate competitiveness and increased client satisfaction.
