Introduction to post-tensioned concrete
7 February 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The purpose of this presentation is to widen the understanding of post-tensioned slab construction and show the benefits and opportunities it offers to developers, architects, engineers and contractors. The topics covered consider post-tensioned process from pre-construction, design, construction, quality control, sustainability and post-construction considerations.
Embodied carbon within building structures is an important element of structural design considerations and post-tensioned concrete can offer reductions in the quantity of materials used compared to more traditional forms of construction. The benefits of post-tensioned concrete are best realised with considering structures as post-tensioned early in the design process.
For those attending in-person refreshments will be served from 17:45. Online will open at 18:00
Organised with The Concrete Society – a UK based non-profit company that was founded in 1966 in response to the increasing need for a single organisation embracing all those interested in concrete.
