Emma Dickson, Carillion Construction, shares learning from 20+ years in a career based in the UK and Ireland. Emma has taken on all sorts of challenges such as how to avoid Blackburn, relieving Dublin of lorries, preventing canal boats from ever reaching the Liffey, helping kids get to school in El Tunco, increasing the prison population, and increasing (!) the train journey time between Edinburgh and Helensburgh.

Emma is currently a Project Manager on Waverley Capacity Improvements but was recently Professional Head of Civil Engineering for Carillion Rail UK and an Engineering Manager. She is enthusiastic about promoting and improving engineering management, raising the profile of engineers, developing future engineers, diversity and STEM.
