Manufacturing Solutions Scotland

Bringing all the leading technology suppliers together the GTMA and NMIS are providing an ideal conduit for the transfer of technology from the specialist suppliers to the practical industrial landscape, where its take-up and practical application can be used to gain a competitive business advantage.

Free parking and refreshments are available to all Manufacturing Solutions visitors.

Tours of either NMIS & AFRC will be available and can be nominated when registering to attend the event. The tours will start at 3.15pm and will last approximately 1 hour. Please only book 1 tour per person as they both start at 3.15pm

NMIS Tour: The flagship NMIS Netherton building is situated at the heart of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District, opened in summer 2023, the 11,500m2 heather-coloured building houses the fully-connected NMIS Digital Factory, Lightweight Manufacturing Centre and the NMIS Manufacturing Sklls Academy.

The 600m2 workshop space demonstrates the vast potential of digital technologies in helping manufacturers improve their products and processes in the drive towards a net-xero economy while still increasing productivity.

AFRC Tour: The AFRC is situated at Glasgow Airport (the original foundation centre of NMIS)

The AFRC is a centre of excellence, known across the world for its expertise in forming and forging technology, including the one-of-a-kind FutureForge, opening in Spring 2024. The FutureForge facility is dedicated solely to carrying out research to bring about a more resource efficient future for the forging industry in the digital, net-zero driven, era.
