Scottish Area Study Tour 2017
1 September 2017 - 5 September 2017
The Institute of Water Scottish Area are delighted to announce that plans are well under way for the annual study tour. Following highly successful visits in recent years to destinations including Northern Ireland and Yorkshire, attendees of the 2017 trip will fly to… the capital city of Portugal; Lisbon!
The provisional itinerary is to stay for 4 or 5 nights mid-September next year dependent on flight bookings. The agenda may include visits to water and wastewater treatment works, renewable energy sites and areas of historical interest within the Water Industry. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to experience the Water Museum which hosts the Aguas Livres Aqueduct; now considered a national monument, this dates back to 1746 and is comprised of 109 stone arches. There will also be the chance to enjoy a tourist attraction or similar activity during the tour in order to socialise and soak up some Portuguese culture!
