Smart Cities, The Internet of Things, Security and Cyber: An Unholy Alliance

8 November 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Our speaker, Iain Slater, is an industry expert in IOT, Smart Cities and Cyber Security. This presentation will explore the uneasy relationships emerging between ubiquitous technologies and the need for increasing levels of security at the device, network, data and transmission layers as well as in application access and storage. The presentation is based on readily available material but brings together the challenges facing today’s users and suppliers of IT. The final part of the presentation will touch, albeit briefly, on GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulation) and how that will impact users on the very near future.
