Structural Integrity Management of offshore platform walkways

29 November 2017 @ 5:45 pm - 7:45 pm

Free

A large number of offshore oil and gas installations in the North Sea are operating beyond their design life, with more than 250 platforms being over 30 years old. Structural integrity management is an increasing challenge for ageing offshore infrastructure.

There is a well-established integrity management process for structural components. However, its limitations for walkway support steelwork are often overlooked.

The talk will provide an overview of structural integrity management of offshore structures and give examples of its limitations for walkways. It will then give recommendations for improvement, focussed on innovation and risk management.
