The decommissioning of offshore structures

FreeDecommissioning is a growing market across the North Sea, with a significant number of the assets approaching the end of their useful lives being located on the UK Continental Shelf. To date, no more than 15% of North Sea platforms and pipelines have been decommissioned, with over 200 platforms expected to be removed by 2025.
The IMechE Glasgow & SW Area Committee are therefore delighted that Robert MacCaig, on behalf of Decom North Sea, has agreed to present an overview of the complex challenge ahead and how industry is collaborating to meet it for the Joint Institute Prestige Lecture event to be held in Glasgow on the 12th April 2018.
His presentation will provide an overview of the challenges faced, how the Oil & Gas industry is evolving to meet those challenges, and how collaboration with a number of strategic partners has been required to achieve the objectives.
