The development of Scramjet engines and spaceplanes

21 April 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

There is currently more interest in commercial space travel than ever before. Companies like Virgin Galactic, SpaceX and others are competing in a new space race. This presentation considers whether this race will result in mass-access to space and, in particular, if it will ever be possible to fly from a conventional airport into space using an aircraft-like spaceship.
The same technology could also allow an aircraft to fly from London to Sydney in two hours and revolutionise air transport.
