Visit to ScottishPower Renewables Whitelee Wind Farm

FreeA visit has been arranged to what is probably Scotland’s biggest Wind Farm. Access to the site is off the M77/A77
Places are limited, so registration is essential. Members will need to provide their own transport. Meet on site at the Visitor Centre by 1.40pm, for the visit to start at 2.00pm.
The visit follows on the theme covered by the effects of ‘Green Generation’ on the transmission system talk given earlier this year. The visit will start with a talk describing the site and the equipment. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
Since our last visit, a few years ago, the number and size of the generators has increased substantially. It is expected that the visit will finish at around 4.15pm.
