1 April 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeTorness is a nuclear power station 33 miles east of Edinburgh on the coast of East Lothian. It is capable of supplying electricity to over 2 million UK homes.
It has two Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors supplying 1190MW to the grid. Construction began in 1980 with generation starting in 1988. The station is expected to continue generating until 2030.
This visit is an engineering opportunity to see how this extended life will be achieved and learn about the station’s operation.
