This was a well attended event, and the Q&A session allowed the audience to participate in a lively, thought-provoking and well informed debate at Engineering Scotland’s Autumn Lecture 2023 with renowned speaker Adrian Gillespie. This exciting event took place on Thursday 23rd Nov 2023 – at the University of Glasgow.

Adrian Gillespie, a leading expert in innovation, shared his insights on how to build a Leading Innovation Nation. The attendees discovered the latest trends and strategies that drive innovation in today’s rapidly changing world.

This event was kindly hosted at the prestigious Sir Charles Wilson Lecture Theatre, University of Glasgow, located at the corner of University Avenue and Gibson Street in Glasgow, G12 8QQ – and as promised – turned out to be a thought-provoking experience.

As Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise, Adrian is responsible for leading a global workforce focused on transforming Scotland’s economy by delivering impactful investment, supporting world leading innovation and enhancing Scotland’s ability to attract international investment. Previously, Adrian was The University of Strathclyde’s first Chief Commercial Officer and member of its Executive Team.
Prior to this, Adrian spent sixteen years at SE, in the Executive Leadership Team and as MD of Operations. During the 1990s he was with Marks and Spencer plc – Adrian holds a BAcc from the University of Glasgow, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde.
